HISTORY AND ORIGIN

Kolindrino takes its name from Kolindros village. Its origins are lost in time. For many years, the small quantinties that survived in the area, where used mainly for tsipouro (grappa).

We saw something else in it.

Deep roots in Pieria.

A NEW ROLE

A small grape. A defining touch.

In 2007, Kolindrino found a new purpose at Pieria Eratini. It was introduced into the blend of Naked King and has remained there ever since: 15% Kolindrino, 85% Syrah.

Small-berried and thick-skinned, Kolindrino is naturally bitter and intensely astringent. We do not seek it for softness, but for what it brings: tannic structure, depth and a wilder edge to Syrah.

Its quantities remain very limited, so it is not vinified separately. Even so, its presence matters. A small share, a distinct character, a local signature.
